The police in Delta State on Tuesday rescued the wife of a lecturer at the Delta State University, Abraka from kidnappers.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, said the police had responded to a distress call by the lecturer, Mr. Emmanuel Okolie at 4am on Tuesday who said kidnappers had broken into his house at Obiaruku, stolen his laptop, his smartphone and N260,000 cash before taking his wife, Roseline, 52, to an unknown destination.
“Sequel to the report, operatives quickly mobilized and went after the hoodlums along Obiaruku/Utagba-Uno road where they ran into the hoodlums’ hideout.
“The kidnappers on sighting the operatives engaged them in a gun duel. Consequently, one of the suspects identified as Collins Onyemaro was arrested, while the remaining two escaped with bullet wounds and the victim was rescued unhurt.
“The suspect has given the names of his accomplices who fled with their weapon,” Kalu
